'Sinar Menuju Pemulihan', the theme of the International Recovery Day Celebration emphasised a hopeful call for society to continue to provide opportunities and support to former drug users to return to the community. The Launching of International Recovery Day in conjunction with the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking 2025 was held on 11th October afternoon. The ceremony organised by the Narcotics Control Bureau, NCB took place at One City Shopping Centre, Kampung Salambigar.
Officiating the celebration was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Awang Haji Mohammad Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health. During the event, two video clips were also launched namely a video clip titled 'Pulih Bersama', which was the theme song for the International Recovery Day and another video titled 'Keluarga Nadi Pemulihan.' Both videos carry the NCB's message emphasising the importance of providing ongoing support to the individuals concerned, especially from their families, in working together to help them through the lifelong recovery process. The two-day exhibition is open to the public providing information on recovery services and programmes, as well as to raise awareness on the dangers of drugs.
